Support Hempfield Girls Basketball and Help a Great Cause!

Join us for our 2nd Annual Sink Pink Girls Basketball Game on Friday, January 23, as we raise funds to benefit Help the Fight, a local Lancaster charity supporting breast cancer patients. There will be giveaways and a 50/50 raffle.

We’re selling Hempfield t-shirts to show support for our team and raise awareness for this great cause! Shirts will be sold for $20 at the game on 1/23 while supplies last!  Proceeds will go directly to Help the Fight.

Students, show your school spirit by purchasing a t-shirt and wearing it to the game on January 23rd. Game times are JV at 6 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. Together, we can make a difference while supporting our team! Don't miss it, and let's fill the gym with pink!

Principal’s Message

HHS Community,

As one journey ends, another begins. On Friday we began our Semester 2 courses! Last Thursday we gathered in the PAC for our Semester1 wrap up/ Semester2 kick off assembly. During our time together, we reviewed HHS expectations, provided a few updates, shared the current color clash standings, looked at our upcoming events for this semester, and discussed the course selection timeline. Counselors are in the process of holding grade level WIN assemblies with our students to review Class Choice and course selection. Our HHS 2026-2027 course selection guide can be found HERE. I will share an E-News post regarding course selection later this week.

We covered a lot of topics during our assembly last week, but there were two key items I want to share with you, so that you may use them with your students as we begin a new semester.  The first was a simple phrase on how to be successful at HHS.

Be where you’re supposed to be, when you’re supposed to be there, doing what you’re supposed to be doing, to the best of your ability, and with consistency.

If students do these things, they will rarely have problems.

Second, I impressed upon our students that their performance first semester does not dictate their performance during this next semester. Students who did well semester 1, must continue to put in the work to do well semester 2. Students who did not do well semester 1, get a fresh start semester 2 and should learn from their mistakes. Regardless of your performance semester 1, how you show up this semester matters. I encouraged students to make a great first impression, set goals, make a plan, talk to their teachers, and find people to support them. We would appreciate any support you can offer at home to reinforce these action steps.

Finally, our students did a wonderful job of Trying New Things this first semester. They accomplished so much, helped so many people, and grew in so many ways. I am filled with so much pride for our school and our student body. The future is looking bright at HHS, and I am so excited to see what our students will try and all that they will accomplish this spring.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!
~Dr. Brossman
